“Another blow and the grinding of a stone on the bottom of the car again caused a hot wave of shame. It seemed to me that I could feel the heart bleed from these sounds from the guy, the owner of the old Toyota we were driving. Oh, it’s not for nothing that he didn’t want to come here, but the amount we offered did its job. In the end, no one won. We spent a whole day on the road, which can be driven by jeep in two hours…”

This is the beginning of an article entitled “Journey to the Bokor Plateau” about one of the most memorable moments of a trip to Cambodia in January 2007.
